Reports to: Director of Manufacturing or Technical Manager or Quality Manager • Develop & implement a microbiological sampling and testing program • Ensure all testing is performed according to Corporate methods, Micro test method, and policy and adheres to good microbiological practices. • Plan and executes a program of routine problem resolution and continuous improvement. • Understand and use basic laboratory safety equipment and instructions, precautions in handling and disposing of biological materials, in accordance with local environmental regulations. • Report correct records of data and maintenance to appropriate individuals, including management. • Train & develop the laboratory staff including microbiology training for plant floor management and operators. • Coordinate with contract manufacturers & labs, suppliers, etc. in internal audits and external audits • Conduct and report internal verification of requirements, based on the laboratory testing standard and other quality-related operating standards. • Coordinate with Global & Divisional Microbiology teams to provide input on programs, procedures and methods, and receive guidance & support on implementation of programs. • Develop and implement plant floor micro control programs in partnership with operations & engineering • Regularly drive business issue resolution and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related major. Must include significant course work in Microbiology (at least four courses). • At least 3 years of experience in Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, and Food manufacturing environment both in a lab and with exposure to plant floor micro control programs. • Fluent in English. • Understand the technical requirements of Quality and Microbiology in factories and research facilities • Influence governmental policies related to Quality where appropriate • Ability to establish beneficial relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers • Strong leadership & team work spirit, ability to motivate the workforce to achieve strategic goals
