• To represent R&D in management discussions, operation meetings as well as in ASTM and stage gate with active discussion and project management. Ensure projects are properly resourced, organized and on track. Train and guide team in projects and coach team to be able to manage project independently. • Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external customers. Establishes operating policies and procedures for the department, facilitating efficient and effective performance. • Acts as leader in the technical community for a specific scientific or R&D discipline for NPD, product, process and packaging improvement as well as for cost optimization and trouble-shooting. Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems by applying advance technical knowledge and extensive experience. Enhances the stature of the discipline through sharing of knowledge, identifying opportunities for greater application of findings and supporting legislative and / or lobbying initiatives. • Develops, implements and communicates short and mid term business plans for the department / category team, consistent with the R&D and the corporation's business strategies and plans. Ensures departmental staff understands these plans, the link with corporate business strategies, and the role of each associate in accomplishing these plans.
