• Manage and coordinate technical inspection services and activities related to vessel builds, modifications and repairs in accordance with project and/or production contractual requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee department QC Engineering staff and QC Inspection staff.
• Measuring, monitoring and report quality control standards relating to project and production.
• Ensure project and production standards comply with relevant classification rules in accordance with specifications and scopes of works.
• Assisting in the development, management and maintenance of quality management systems including Business Management System, company standards, and ISO 9001:2008 certifications. Provide system auditing functions and oversee relevant document control systems.
• Review materials certification to comply with approved drawings and contract specifications.
• Compile testing summary reports for production analysis.
• Review MDR according to project requirement.
• Manage materials income inspection and compare with Purchase Orders and material mill certificates. Undertake visual inspection of incoming classed materials for each project.
• Control projects fit up inspections according to ITP. Undertake dimension inspection and complie reports for record keeping.
• Inspect welding for hull structures, piping works.
• Install inspection of Machinery, equipment, outfitting...
• Apply survey forms according to contract and classification requirements.
• Review and check WPS & Welders qualification to comply with rules and client specification.
• Review the BMS procedures and ISO system procedures, Quality Objectives.
• Lead internal auditor for ISO 9001:2008.
• Coordinate in ISO 9001: 2008 Audit

• Direct, coach, mentor, and develop staff within the department
• Implement new departmental systems in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager and train staff in effective use
• Establish and enforce effective information and record keeping systems capable of addressing project management and business development and estimating needs

• Work with other departments in the shipyard to ensure overall performance is consistent with aims & priorities.
• Provide consultancy and expertise across the various departments relating to quality control and quality management.

• Prepare and generate suitable reports to ensure adequate information is supplied to internal and external stakeholders regarding quality.
• Develop, manage and maintain quality management systems including Business Management System and company certifications.
• Follow approved company processes as defined in Business Management System

* Requirement
• Tertiary Education in a relevant field of Engineering. Marine related disciplines will be highly regarded.
• Quality auditor qualifications (ISO standards would be an advantage)
• Knowledge of ship construction and building methods
• Working knowledge of code and standards related to shipbuilding
• Relevant technical knowledge, expertise and ability.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
• Knowledge of International Quality Standards and Class Society Rules, such as: AWS D1.1, D1.2, …, ASME IX, LR, DNV, BV, AS 1554, AS 3678, …
• Knowledge in building and operating Quality Management system, such as ISO 9001
