• Reports to: General Director
• Dotted line reports to: Corporate Vice President, Purchasing
• Responsible for providing daily strategic and tactical direction to Asia Purchasing, Sourcing & Development (S&D) organization, as well as day-to-day management of Purchasing Manager and S&D Managers. This position coordinates with other Purchasing Directors from Corporate to define the Global Supply Base, and manage the selection and certification of all suppliers that will provide the best landed value to the Ashley Company. Conducts higher level negotiations as needed with components and commodities that are part of the Ashley Company’s global raw material supply chain. Participates in the development of Strategic Planning as well as global and regional Purchasing best practices.
• Accountable for Including but not limited to, developing and achieving annual operating and cost reduction budgets, Developing and maintaining Consistent and Secure supply chains, Monitoring and improving our Speed to Market for new and inline items.
• Provide daily tactical and strategic direction to Ashley Asia Purchasing, S&D organization.
• Manage the overall S&D and Purchasing organization, ie, relative Managers, Supervisors, Specialists
• Develop and achieve annual operating and material budgets.
• Develop and lead efforts in Strategic Planning, Best Practices, and Supplier Cost Reductions.
• Manage Asia S&D and Purchasing Metrics: development, maintenance, and improvement.
• Standardize and implement best-in-class systems, methodologies, and operating procedures in conjunction with the Center for Excellence.
• Improve product quality, reduce lead times, and reduce costs by partnering with key vendors.
• Lead the Supply Base in identification and elimination of Supply Chain waste, and improvements to overall Supply Chain efficiency.

• This position is regularly scheduled at least 44 hours per week, typically 7:30a.m-4:00pm from Mon to Fri, and 7:30am-12:00pm on Sat. Some evenings and weekends required.

• Frequent domestic and international travel will be required.
• Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• 12-15 years of purchasing experience in a multi-plant manufacturing environment. Technical and Purchasing experience in the major commodity groupings.
• APICS and/or ISM certification, or achieving and maintaining that certification within two years of entering the department.
