Purpose
• The position shall be primarily responsible for managing overall application service at Iron making customer sites within the region. Shall be accountable fortimely application following quality and safety standards. The position will also be responsible for transferring best practices in Iron making application service from other location.
Key Result Areas
• Providing all aspects of application service comprehensively.
• Playing a significant role in the implementation of improvement activities in BF trough area of the customer sites in a time bound manner.
• Providing the technical support in rolling out of New products (including tap hole clay), application technique, equipment trial and establishing those in the customer sites.
• Building a collaborative working relationship with the application teams based at multiple customer sites through regular interactions, TOT/knowledge sharing and sharing of best practices.
• Regular Problem solving at various sites – CCAR analysis with on time quality resolutions.
• Involves in preparation of techno – commercial proposals for new projects in the Blast furnace area in consultation with his superior and take part in the technical discussion with the customers.
Qualifications:
• Graduate / Post Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of hands on experience in BF operations / Refractory Maintenance in steel plants, or similar experience
Knowledge:
• Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles of steel plant and different product line applications in Blast Furnace operations.
• Should possess sound understanding of Iron making process to identify scope for value creation.
• Good understanding of the application of castables, preferably BF troughs
