JOB SUMMARY To provide leadership and proactive EHS services that support Company business objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintains regulatory compliance with governmental regulations on health and safety. • Conforms the standards set by applicable regulations. • Conducts routine inspections of facilities for compliance with company and government regulations. • Prepares reports for submission to supervisors and management, which identify the potential hazard(s) and or department discrepancies found, and provides recommendations for control and compliance. • Advises employees, supervisors, and management on safe work practices and potential hazards. • Leads and assists plant personnel with safety and health issues. • Investigates and resolves employee health/safety issues. • Implements effective training to assist line and staff management in understanding safety regulations and procedures • Ensures proper inspection and maintenance of fire protection equipment and emergency response activities. • Represents company during property protection inspections by insurance carrier and responsible for addressing deficiencies noted. • Conducts accident investigations • Participate in meeting, workshops, and conferences to keep abreast of emerging safety, health, and environmental issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education : • Four Year Degree in Health and Safety or related applied science field • Masters Degree in Safety and Health or applied science field
Experience : • 3 - 5 years Health and Safety or related field
Knowledge of : • Proficient in the operation of personal computer (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point) • Chinese governmental regulations on health and work safety requirements. • First aid and CPR
Skills and Abilities : • Knowledge in the application of government health and safety regulations • Effective supervisory skills • Good PC Software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point) • Excellent presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the company • Demonstrated organizational skills • Available to work a variable schedule MENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS Mental Effort : • Must be able to make decisions that impact employee safety and health as well as production • Must be able to manage multiple responsibilities • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Physical Requirements : • Sitting for periods of time • Standing and walking frequently to different locations throughout the facility • Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Working Conditions : • Wear PPE when required • Constant interaction with employees, supervisors, and management.
