OBJECTIVE • Ensure the safe operation of all production equipment and facilities. Design, manufacture, install and commission all associated tooling, fixtures and gauges. • Manage the engineering department and ensure all spare parts are available. KEY RESPONSIBLITES • Plan all routine equipment services and ensure the maintenance schedule is communicated and approved. • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of the maintenance schedule to avoid breakdowns and downtime. • Where required supervise and coordinate the emergency repairs of equipment to minimise downtime. • Supervise the repair of all equipment breakdowns. • Ensure Safe work practices in line with OH&S policies and regulations. • Ensure compliance with all government regulations, internal policies and procedures. • Design equipment modifications where required. • Project manage the Installation & commissioning of all new equipment and ensure it is delivered on time and on budget. • Coordinate building maintenance and on site contractors where required. • Actively participate and support R&D projects as required, including knowledge, testing, development/. • Update machine and plant drawings and plans as required. • Supervision of engineering staff
• Bachelor’s degree on Mechanics / Engineering. • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role. • A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising staff. • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a busy manufacturing environment. • Proven experience working with large plastic extruder machines. • Demonstrated experience on managing large projects of the installation and commissioning of new equipment. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • Proven problem solving skills. • Strong analytical skills • Excellent PC skills using the MS suite as well as CAD. • Excellent people management skills.
