Summary: • Manages purchasing, material planning, scheduling, inventory management, handles load, capacity, and bottlenecks in the production environment. Receiving and warehouse management functions. Employee training and development; provide leadership to purchasing and warehousing. Supervise use of Resonance, MRP and Mapics in the department. Main duties: • Establish and regularly update purchasing team's short - medium term plan. • Control inventory aging, speed up stock turns, formulate action plans on slow moving inventory • Coordinate with the Development team and lead cost reduction initiatives in all aspects of the company’s procurement and purchasing. • Maintain the balance between quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. • Improve company policies and procedures in coordination with other department. Help vendors set up policies and procedure to attain higher standards • Maintain timely and proper POs in the system. Ensure materials arrive in the correct quantity and timing according to production requirements • Ensure all non-conformance are properly reported and documented. Support buyers in communicating charge-backs to vendor and ensure vendor acceptance. • Analyze pricing trend and opportunities and feedback to development manager and general manager. Highlight opportunities for alternate sourcing and more competitive pricing. • Perform and provide factual evidence such as feasibility studies, due diligence, laboratory test results to justify the necessity for development department to reassess choice of vendor, material source and price.
• 8 year experience in related field • University degree required, Master Degree preferred • Purchase price negotiation; Project Management • Ability to lead people and get results through others • Ability to think ahead and prepare action plan to achieve results at a macro level • Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase subordinates’ skills and capabilities • Measure and control performance goals and standards • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations • Problem analysis and resolution • Quality orientation and attention to detail • Systems and continuous improvement orientation • Inventory management • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Team player • Strong analytical skills • Thorough understanding of Office applications
